Auto Body Spray Since 1990
Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director — Best Hands General Motors Ghana Ltd.
Early Life and Journey of Resilience
The story of Best Hands General Motors begins with perseverance forged through hardship. Our CEO and Managing Director began his journey as a young apprentice in Accra in the late 1980s, determined to master the craft of automotive repair despite limited resources and significant personal challenges. For years he faced financial strain, long hours, and the physical demands of a workshop environment that tested both his resolve and his health. There were periods when continuing seemed impossible, yet he remained committed to learning every aspect of panel beating, auto spraying, mechanical repair, and electrical diagnostics. That period of unimaginable suffering became the foundation of his work ethic and his belief that quality, honesty, and discipline are non-negotiable in this industry. He completed his apprenticeship not by cutting corners, but by staying late, asking questions, and refusing to deliver anything less than factory-standard work.
Founding Best Hands General Motors
In 1994, with little more than his skills, reputation, and a small rented space in Accra, he established Best Hands General Motors. The vision was clear from day one: create a workshop where customers could trust that their vehicles were in the best possible hands. Over the next three decades, he built the company from a one-man operation into one of Accra’s most respected auto service centers, serving thousands of individual clients and corporate fleets. His leadership emphasized technical precision combined with transparent customer service. He introduced oven-baked paint systems and advanced color-matching technology to Ghana’s auto repair market at a time when such standards were rare. This commitment to quality earned Best Hands General Motors official partnership status with Japan Motors Ghana, a recognition of the company’s reliability and craftsmanship.
Leadership and Professional Standards
As CEO, he has instilled a culture of continuous training and accountability within the workshop. Under his direction, Best Hands maintains strict quality control protocols at every stage of repair, from initial inspection to final road testing. He works closely with the technical team, including Senior Apprentice Pascal “Passy,” to ensure that every vehicle leaving the facility meets the company’s exacting standards. He believes that a workshop is only as strong as its people, which is why he invests in staff development and adheres to safety and environmental best practices. His management style blends hands-on oversight with mentorship, ensuring that younger technicians are trained to the same high standard he set for himself during his apprenticeship.
Personal Life and Values
Beyond the workshop, he is a devoted family man, happily married with four children. His family remains his greatest source of strength and motivation. He often credits his spouse’s unwavering support during the difficult early years as the reason he was able to push through and establish the business. Family values of integrity, hard work, and service to community are reflected in how Best Hands operates daily. He is also committed to giving back to the community that supported him during his rise. Through informal mentorship, he has trained and employed dozens of young Ghanaians, giving them a pathway into skilled automotive trades.
Vision for the Future
Today, Best Hands General Motors stands as a symbol of what discipline and persistence can achieve. The CEO’s vision is to continue expanding the company’s capabilities while maintaining the personal touch and trust that have defined its reputation for over 30 years. He is focused on integrating new automotive technologies, expanding service capacity, and upholding the standards that made Best Hands the name customers rely on in Accra.
